According to the 2006 Global Information Security Workforce Study, 85 percent of security hiring managers worldwide believe in the importance of information security certiications as a hiring criterion. Employee competency and quality of work remain the top reasons that employers and hiring managers continue to place emphasis on security certiications. Company policy and regulations are becoming critical reasons as well.
Good that my HR wasn't looking for certifications, else I would have been jobless :p
